Shmirah

Shmirah (Transdisciplinary Journal of Ecology and Humanities) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access academic journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary scholarship at the intersection of ecological sciences and the humanities. The journal provides a forum for critical inquiry into the complex relationships between human societies and ecological systems, bringing together perspectives from ecology, environmental science, philosophy, anthropology, cultural studies, history, arts, ethics, and related fields.

In an era marked by accelerating environmental change, biodiversity loss, and socio-ecological transformation, understanding ecological phenomena requires not only scientific analysis but also humanistic reflection on values, meanings, histories, and lived experience. The journal responds to this need by fostering dialogue across disciplinary boundaries and encouraging integrative approaches to environmental knowledge.
